A “Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity” institution, according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, UNCW has made great strides in the areas of research and scholarly activities. 

Gifts supporting the research and innovation enterprise provide resources that enable faculty and student to conduct ground-breaking research and inform real change in our coastal region, our state and beyond. 

Innovation at UNCW takes many forms. Your gifts during Seahawks Give provide aid to the:

• Research Excellence Fund - supports the rise of cutting-edge research where students and faculty work hand-in-hand
• Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) - giving to the CIE nurtures emerging companies and works to accelerate the entrepreneurial ecosystem in southeastern North Carolina
