Military Affairs

When Wilmington College opened its doors in 1947, seventy-five percent of students were World War II veterans. UNCW now proudly serves over 2,200 military-affiliated students. From earning the Military Times Best for Vets designation from 2017-20 to being 6th on the U.S. News & World Report's list of Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans for the second year in a row, UNCW's commitment to military-affiliated students continues to earn national recognition.

During the summer of 2020, the Office of Military Affairs moved to a new space in Veterans Hall to better serve our military-affiliated students. The new space features a larger lounge area with a full kitchen, a quiet study room, a training room and more.

Your gift to Military Affairs will provide funding for:

  • Scholarships for active servicemembers, veterans and their families
  • Programs and services that help military-affiliated students transition to civilian life
  • Events that support the military-affiliated community at UNCW and in the surrounding area
